Bronze IIITrick or Treat on Specter Street: Serpent Sanctum
So for this challenge we have got hint:
(serpent-statue) $ hint
Maybe the fang can be in two places at once...
Tried to copy both fang.key and fang2.key to statue folder but it did not allow me.
The error message:
The statue's eyes flare red with anger.
This is merely a copy; a false fang with no power.
The worthless copy crumbles to dust in your hands.
What other methods can we try here? Anyone solved it already?
Ahh yes. That worked. created a symlink from the 'statue' folder - : ln -sf ../vault/store/fang.key fang.key (execute this symlink from statue folder), and it worked. Next I am stuck in Python jail. You managed to solve it GuyIncognito ?

I finally did today actually. Forgot that I had been stuck there as well. I'll admit I had to ask AI for some help. Some hints I would say to ask are, "how can I can out what functions are available to use in this Python jail" and then looking at those functions, ask which of those could help exit the jail.

Unless they've changed how the lab works, you may find it very illuminating to look in the /tmp directory each time you're attempting a task... 😜 also, there are (or were) some "interesting" choices in file system permissions, if you go browsing around the filesystem when they aren't expecting you to... 😎
* Insert serious discussion here about whether the point of labs is to do it they way they are intending you to (though how would you know, if it's a CTF'esque one?), or just to get the points in the quickest/easiest way possible... We are hackers, right? 😆
