How do you use the clipboard feature within labs?

Can anyone tell me how I can use the clipboard feature within labs?

  • Hi there,

The clipboard is built into the labs has been designed in a way to allow copying and pasting, to and from, the virtual machine. For some labs, this has also been disabled to make sure that any malicious content cannot be copied out to your computer.

The browser that you are using will determine what will, and won't work. You'll also need to allow the clipboard in your browser settings.

A link containing further information, can be found here

This will tell you what you need to do, to get it working.

  • Many of our labs work seamlessly with the clipboard, allowing you to copy and paste in and out of them as you would expect. However, in the few cases where this doesn't work as expected, you are provided with a small box in the top left of the screen to transfer information between your host machine and the in-lab virtual machine. If you paste some content in here from your host, you should be able to access it inside the lab machine as expected.

One thing to note is that some labs have copy and pasting intentionally disabled for safety purposes - for example, labs that contain live malware.
