đź“° Community Updates

The Good
This week, we enhanced the search functionality of this community by integrating our Help Center, which offers comprehensive help & support documentation, alongside your existing community articles. From now on, your community searches will return both community and help center resources...  It's all at your fingertips! ✨ Read more here, try it out and let us know how you get on!
The Bad
It’s not always butterflies and rainbows in the world of community management and unfortunately we experience bugs on the community platform from time to time. Last week, we learned that the calendar invitation community you receive when you click â€śAttend” to one of our community events contains a dead link. We’ve reported this and are absolutely chasing it as a high priority, but, in the meantime, it’s best that you go to the event page itself when a webinar is due to start. We'll let you know when this is fixed.
The Ugly
Just kidding! There’s nothing ugly in this community, but the recent uptick in ClickFix phishing being used to socially engineer and get victims to download malware is pretty ugly alright.

Here is some of my favourite community content from the last month:

Catch the recording of MaxVetter & KevBreen's fireside chat, Decoding the May Retail Cyber Onslaught as events are still unfolding.

Learn how to Build your first practical lab with Immersive’s lab builder product manager, MattParven.

  • Hello,

in "Did anyone actually win anything from the Human Connection Challenge?" thread i was asking for more information about the winners of Human Connection Challenge. KieranRowley promised that winners will be announced in next month's (this one) newsletter, if they agree. Does it mean that ALL of the winners of all prizes like tickets to NY/London, all winners of PS5 and all winners of Airpods disagreed to be posted in Newsletter ? :)

Hey m0ns00n I'm really sorry for the delay in announcing the winners and thank you for keeping me honest!

The truth is, this is the first time we've ever run a competition like this and we have learned a lot of lessons very quickly, not least:

      • People don't always open emails that say "YOU ARE A WINNER!", especially in this industry
      • Company policies delay and often prohibit our members from claiming prizes
      • Company policies often prohibit us and our members from announcing their wins
      • Getting prizes into the hands of our members globally is slow and difficult!

With that said, we do have some winners who are happy to be announced, and I promise we are working on it! Please bear with us 🙏

We are also working on ways to make this much smoother for our next season of challenges.

Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate the honesty. I understand that organizing something like this can be difficult. I totally understand the challenges, but just a quick note: in the EU and US, consumer protection laws require transparency in prize competitions, regardless of internal company policies, and that proof of winners is available or disclosed upon reasonable request, even if anonymized. So when winners aren't clearly confirmed, it becomes legally questionable and honestly it makes people like me hesitant to join future challenges, no matter how great they sound. This will be my last message about the winners, I’m just a bit tired of writing these comments. It looks like nobody else cares how fair the challenge was, so I’ll stop caring too.
