Due to a variety of factors, Adam needed a new opportunity that provided a more flexible work environment. To this end, he enrolled in IT support classes, successfully completing a record-number of courses in an eight-week period.
As Covid-19 began to disrupt day-to-day operations around the globe, Adam’s role was impacted and subsequently made redundant.
Despite these challenges, Adam remained invested in his love of all things technology. In 2022, Adam attended a job fair, where he learned about the Immersive Labs Digital Cyber Academy (DCA) offering. This program enables individuals to prove their ability to meet job requirements by completing exercises on the Immersive Labs platform.
Shortly after the job fair, Adam enrolled and brought his signature speed to the exercises, earning a lofty spot on the leaderboard. For Adam, the platform exercises were unlike
any other upskilling he had ever completed. “I just loved the format of it,” he explained. “I can do other training, but I prefer Immersive Labs. I like the layout of it and it just makes sense.” A week and a half into his exercises, Adam searched for cybersecurity jobs on a popular job site. He found a listing for a role at IASME – a foundational DCA partner – and applied and landed an exciting cyber job.
Many months later, Adam loves his role as a certification support specialist. At IASME, not only does he feel secure in his current position, but sees many growth opportunities, as the organization is committed to upskilling their people.
When asked for his advice to others considering using the
Immersive Labs platform, his answer is straightforward: “Go for
it,” he urged. “Immersive Labs helped me land my dream job as
a certification support analyst. I went for it and look what it got
me: it got me a job.”
