Welcome to Day 9 of the Community Cyber Countdown!
Every day in December, we’re taking a look at some of our favorite content of 2025.
For the 9th day, Kirsten Foon, Director of Demand Generation and Digital Marketing, talks us through one of the most popular webinars we held this year.
The Anatomy of a Cyber Crisis: How The Real Work Meets the Moment
Cybersecurity teams dread the moment a real attack hits. And their ultimate fear? Whether their people are truly prepared for the moment when the attack unfolds.
The webinar The Anatomy of a Cyber Crisis: How The Real Work Meets the Moment addressed those fears by discussing the realities of managing a cyber crisis, focusing on preparation, execution under pressure, and post-mortem recovery.
We were grateful to have Jake Wesenberg, Cybersecurity Program Lead from Koch, to talk about his experiences alongside Immersive’s cyber experts.
Why was it so popular?
This webinar was incredibly popular because it offered actionable, real-world strategies for stopping panic before it sets in.
The experts weren't shy about calling out how those yearly "checkbox" exercises fail, stressing that we really need continuous, tailored drills to build muscle memory across every team – not just the tech folks in the SOC.
People especially loved the candid advice on staying clear-headed during a crisis, including the smart, simple idea of having a non-decision-making "historian" in the room to track everything.
The main takeaway
Ultimately, the webinar provided attendees with a practical roadmap for moving beyond just having a plan to actually proving they can perform, reinforcing the necessary shift from merely reacting to a crisis to building genuine, proactive stability.
